Leaving promptly at 6am from the coffee bean on El paseo this ride heads out towards Rancho Mirage warming up for about 4 miles before picking up pace on Country Club. Ride will continue in the low-mid 20mph range until going up the Ritz climb at whatever your capacity allows. Regroup at the top of the climb and often goes full tilt boogie at least intermittently for the remainder of the ride. As with many rides, pace depends on who shows up. We consider this to be a quick B+ ride. No aerobars please. Group riding skills required

A fast & fun ride that has a bit of everything. Starting out from Palm Desert Civic Park we start with some of the other groups warming up down Portola and across the highway before heading East on Varner. The group splits off on 38th ave, turns left on Washington and picks up the pace until heading up Thousand Palms Climb (4.5 miles, avg 2.6% grade). Often, the group will split into 2 during the climb with the fast folks waiting at the end for other quicker folks before taking off east bound on Dillon. People who lag a little will "generally" regroup at the top of the climb forming a second group. Please note that this dynamic truly depends on those riding so make sure you know your directions if this is your first ride with this group!

The ride goes up and then a nice long/fast descent into Indio and turning on 44th ave, stopping briefly at the AM/PM and then crossing over the freeway to Calhoun riding North to Airport and then across towards La Quinta. Sometimes the ride will include LQ cove and sometimes not.

This ride is not for the faint of heart. Generally pretty quick and although the avg speed ends up around 18mph there are plenty of sustained flats at over 25mph. Group riding skills are a must if you want to hang, no aerobars allowed. GPX file Above

One of our more popular rides...While "Zone 2" can vary from person to person, this ride is most enjoyable if you‘re able to hold a steady pace within a group of 19-22mph. Overall average for the ride ends up "around" 18mph. Heading out from Palm Desert Civic Park, warming up as we meander our way down Portola and across the freeway to Varner. The ride cruises past the dealerships until Jefferson and then jogs around South East to the AM/PM where we tend to regroup. After a brief rest stop generally heads up Jackson to Airport, across to Monroe and then up to Trilogy. The GPX file above shows the entire route of about 60 miles and includes the Cove but some folks choose to split off and eliminate segments. This ride can be enjoyed and cut short by heading back home via 48th ave, 52nd, and others. If doing so, ride distance can be tailored to 42 miles and up. Group riding skills will make this ride much more enjoyable if you can stay out of the breeze. No aero bars allowed. Tis ride will stop to help with mechanicals but does not slow pace for riders falling off the back.

Rolling out of Civic Center Park at 9am, our C Rides are coordinated out of Meetup (link above or search "DBC" on Meetup app). Rides average 11-14mph and distance is roughly 20+ miles long. This ride will stop for mechanicals and is also considered a "no Drop" within reason. You should have some experience with these distances and averages.

C Rides are a great way to learn best practices in group riding. If not a DBC member there will be a liability waiver to sign before leaving.

Once again, RSVP for these rides through Meetup is required, can‘t wait to see you!

Leaving from IW Coffee (Corner Country Club and Cook) promptly at 8:30am this ride warms up quickly heading around Palm Desert and climbs up Portola past the living Desert where we start our Hot Laps. These laps climb from the Living Desert until hitting Mesa View, turning onto Alamo and then again onto Haystack descending until Portola to run the lap again and again. Generally we do between 4-5 laps before finishing off with a cruise up to the Visitor Center on Hwy 74 (Start of Art Smith Trail). This ride has a quick tempo, that builds up quickly. Try not to get lapped and enjoy! Avg speed 15-19mph (including climbing) Guests always welcome but please no aerobars within the group
